Gravel stuck in the rings of a fallen evergreen, Glacier Point, Yosemite National Park, California, USA
Taken on the handicap trail back to the parking lot from Glacier Point.
I like how the uneven rings with the random gravel creates a colorful mosaic.
Some times nature provides the best sources for somewhat abstract images. In this case the end of a fallen evergreen tree that has collected some gravel in its unevenly broken growth rings. By developing the picture just past the point of believability I was able to achieve a surreal effect. And I thought it was pretty.
